Five Heroes - Story Campaign

Firestone Kingdom

About Five Heroes

Five Heroes is a story-driven turn-based RPG. As a warlord, you recruit heroes, complete quests, progress through the storyline, defeat various enemies and bosses, and upgrade your heroes.

My Involvement
I wrote the story, planned the campaign, developed characters, designed quests and levels, and wrote the dialogue. During the process, I collaborated with artists, programmers, and economy designers to bring our vision to life. Once done with the planning, I implemented everything in the Unity engine using custom editor tools.

  1. Dorian the Ranger returns home and finds his village under attack by skeletons.
  2. He saves the village from the skeletons and confronts a King's messenger.
  3. The messenger summons him to the Firestone Castle on behalf of the King.
  4. Dorian arrives at the castle and almost gets in a brawl with the guards, but the King calls them off.
  5. King Ulric IV reveals that the skeletal invasion is the price the kingdom pays for his ancestor's greed.
  6. 200 years ago, the King of that time sought the World Diamond beneath the White Peak mountain.
  7. The locals warned him of an ancient curse, but he paid no regard to them and kept digging.
  8. Upon reaching the diamond, they awakened the Skeleton King and his undead army.
  9. The King's army managed to contain the threat, but now the skeletons are upon their doorstep.
  10. The King wants Dorian to gather a party of heroes and defeat the Skeleton King.
  11. Dorian recruits his old friend, a dwarf named Gundar, after helping him rid his gold mine of skeletons.
  12. Dorian recruits another of his friends, a priestess named Kira.
  13. Now Dorian needs his brother Thalion, a dissident young mage imprisoned by the King's order.
  14. The King agrees to pardon Thalion if Dorian needs him to slay the Skeleton King.
  15. But as Dorian arrives at Thalion's prison cell to set him free, he learn that Thalion has already escaped.
  16. Dorian sets out to find his brother, asks the locals about a young hooded mage with blonde hair.
  17. The locals lead him to the Salt Lake Inn, where he learns that Thalion has caused a lot of trouble.
  18. Dorian follows his brother's lead and confronts an evil Necromancer who summons skeletons.
  19. The Necromancer tells Dorian he will meet his brother soon, then leaves them against his minions.
  20. Dorian and his party come across a blacksmith and help him retrieve his anvil.
  21. In return, the blacksmith shares information about Thalion's whereabouts - a wealthy manor to the east.
  22. The party learns that the manor lord's sister has met Thalion, but she has gone missing since.
  23. The heroes find the sister at the cemetery, fighting skeletons who attempted to convert her.
  24. She reveals that Thalion was abducted as well, but unlike her, he didn't even resist.
  25. The sister suggests visiting Faustus, a mysterious summoner who can speak to the dead.
  26. The heroes visit Faustus, brutally interrogating a skeleton using a necromancy spell.
  27. Faustus volunteers to "ask" one of the skeletons slain by the lost sister about Thalion's whereabouts.
  28. The heroes return to the cemetery and learn that the locals have already buried the skeletons.
  29. Despite Kira's protest, the heroes unearth one of the recently buried skeletons and take it to Faustus.
  30. Faustus casts his spell and animates the skeleton.
  31. The skeleton reveals that Dorian's brother Thalion is at the Woodshire Mausoleum.
  32. In Woodshire, the heroes confront the King's messenger, who expresses concern about the party's detour.
  33. Dorian rudely dismisses the messenger and moves on to the Mausoleum.
  34. Upon arriving at the Mausoleum, Dorian once again confronts the Necromancer.
  35. The latter offers him to join the undead army, which Dorian refuses.
  36. The Necromancer retreats and leaves the heroes against his minions.
  37. The heroes track down the Necromancer and reach the Royal Cemetery.
  38. They run into two guards addicted to Donkey's Favor who won't open the gate without it.
  39. Gundar pokes the nearby donkeys for a pile of their "favor" and gives it to the guards. They open the gate.
  40. Entering the Royal Cemetery, the heroes once again confront the King's messenger.
  41. Dorian disregards the King's orders to focus on the objective and proceeds to find his brother.
  42. At the center of the Royal Cemetery, the party confronts the Necromancer and the Skeleton King himself.
  43. When the Necromancer offers Dorian to join the undead, Dorian refuses and demands to see his brother.
  44. The Skeleton King claims Dorian is not ready and leaves the Necromancer to fight the heroes.
  45. Dorian, Kira, and Gundar defeat the Necromancer and his minions in combat.
  46. The dying Necromancer removes his hood and reveals his blonde hair.
  47. Dorian realizes - the Necromancer is none other than his brother Thalion.
  48. Thalion reveals that while he was in prison, the Skeleton King came to him and offered power.
  49. In return, Thalion has become one of his lieutenants.
  50. As Thalion draws his last breath, Dorian swears to avenge him and slay the Skeleton King.
  51. Some time later, Dorian's party rejoins the King's forces.
  52. Dorian refuses to talk to anybody, even the King.
  53. Faustus reaches out to Dorian, offers his help in defeating the Skeleton King.
  54. He reveals that he used to be one of his lieutenants, just like Thalion, seeking power and immortality.
  55. However, learned to resist the Skeleton King's corruption and eventually betrayed him.
  56. Dorian accepts his help, and together, they lead the King's armies to the Citadel of the Dead.
  57. The King's armies besiege the citadel and breach its defenses.
  58. The Skeleton King locks himself in his throne room.
  59. Faustus reveals that to unlock the throne room, he needs to perform a ritual with four summoning pillars.
  60. Each of the pillars requires the souls of four of the Skeleton King's lieutenants.
  61. The heroes fight and defeat four King's lieutenants, and bring their bones to the summoning pillars.
  62. Once all the bones are in place, Faustus performs his ritual and unlocks the throne room.
  63. The heroes confront the Skeleton King, and Dorian prepares to enact his vengeance.
  64. The latter claims he gave Thalion power over life and death, but Dorian took his life.
  65. The heroes fight and defeat the Skeleton King.
  66. As the evil menace falls, so do all of his minions.
  67. Grateful for Faustus's help, Dorian offers him to join his party, which the latter gladly accepts.
  68. Dorian reunites with the King and reports that his kingdom is now safe.
  69. The King, however, has other plans.
  70. Now that the Skeleton King is gone, he wants the World Diamond beneath the White Peak mountain.
