About Solar Sails: Space Pirates
Solar Sails is a space-action RPG with adventure elements. Control a pirate ship, plunder the royal navy, launch a scout duck to search for treasures, upgrade your ship with alien technologies, and sail onwards to unveil the darkest secrets of the universe.
My Involvement
I lead Cosmic Duck Games, a small indie team, where I act as Game Designer and Narrative Designer. I laid out the campaign storyline, designed quests, developed the world and characters, and wrote item and ability descriptions.

Duelito's Pride
Collectible Item
Duelito was a legendary Dominion noble who would duel anyone who criticized his poetry. Luckily, he was a much better duelist than a poet. As such, Duelito won countless duels until the general public became more receptive to his poetry.
Holy Duck Figurine
Collectible Item
A holy Mallard figurine, rumored to host the spirit of a cosmic duck. While it appears nice and cute, legends say it secretly poops into its enemies' souls.
Piggie Bomb
Consumable Item
Fill it with nails and fire it from a cannon, and you'll be surprised how much damage it can do. Although, it's a bit annoying to carry them around - the contents of the Piggy Bombs tend to make a strong noise when you shake them.
Tomato Fireworks
Quest Item
Fireworks embedded in tomatoes make muted explosion sounds. While this is a great move in favor of people sensitive to explosions, it does not bode well with people sensitive to tomato splatter all over their clothes.
Virgin Tomato
Quest Item
A young, smooth, and clean tomato, yet untouched by culinary hands.
Ancient Hands Dryer
Quest Item
An ancient device prehistoric humans used to dry their hands with. Insert your hands into the designated openings and hold long enough until your hands are dry. But keep in mind! The openings are too narrow, so this device is not recommended for people with thick hands.
Figurine of Noodly Openness
Collectible Item
The following figurine of His Noodliness is granted as a badge of honor for challenging the Pastafarian dogma and opening their minds. May His Noodliness protect your hulls with sauce and soften your collisions. Ra'men!

Brace for Impact
Passive Ability
Knowing his ship through and through, Moreguns braces for an impact and reduces the damage taken from collisions by 15%.
Chrono Sphere
Ultimate Ability
Sam masters the theory of relativity and uses his homemade device to create a temporary time anomaly sphere. The sphere slows all enemy units and projectiles caught within by 65%. Lasts 30 seconds.
Duck Swarm
Active Ability
The following figurine of His Noodliness is granted as a badge of honor for challenging the Pastafarian dogma and opening their minds. May His Noodliness protect your hulls with sauce and soften your collisions. Ra'men!
Fury of the Seven Suns
Active Ability
Quacken musters all his cosmic rage and increases his movement, turning speed by 50%, and decreases his attack cooldown by 50% for 20 seconds.
Call Mast Duck
Active Ability
From his cozy nest on the mast, Barvaz the Duck gives in to his bird's senses and flashes all pickable and interactable objects within a 150-meter radius. Lasts 5 seconds.
Siren's Serenade
Ultimate Ability
Amy sings a charming yet powerful song that makes enemy units within a 300-meter radius attack each other. Lasts 30 seconds.
Sonic Prank
Ultimate Ability
Dina's tunes into the enemy frequency and screams into the comm device, which scares all enemies in a 300-meter radius. The enemies disengage and flee in random directions for 20 seconds.
Meat the Cannons
Active Ability
Every hostile projectile directed at the ship has a 20% chance of turning into a harmless meatball. Gatling attacks have a 20% chance of turning into sauce streams. Lasts 30 seconds.
